Cells in real life

Do the cells in our body all look like the pretty picture on the presentation? Of course not. Do all of our cells look the same? Of course not.

The plant cell too?

A plant cell has all of the same major organelles as an animal cell, such as:

cell membrane
nucleus
cytoplasm
vacuole
lysosomes
ribosomes
golgi bodies
endoplasmic reticulum
mitochondria

BUT...a plant cell has two more parts that have extremely important functions.

cell wall - gives extra structure and protection to the plant cell

chloroplast - produces "food" for the cell through the process of photosynthesis

All these parts? In one tiny animal cell? That's AMAZING!
